EMS400

Our most advanced power supply ever

Introducing the EMS400 power supply, the most advanced supply ever produced for powering a tattoo machine.

Over the past twelve years, we have spent countless hours developing and testing the best methods for delivering the cleanest, most stable power to a tattoo machine. We've combined that with the feedback received from our valued customers, to produce a power supply that is contemporary in design and function, capable of delivering the cleanest, most stable output power that you have come to expect from an Eikon power supply. Capacitance Touch User Interface

Capacitance Touch User Interface

The EMS400's capacitance touch buttons don't require any physical pressure to activate, they are finely tuned to work flawlessly through barrier controls even while wearing medical gloves.

  • Buttons use capacitance touch technology for quick and accurate activation with the touch a finger.
  • The buttons large size in relation to the face of the EMS400 makes them easy to trigger.
  • Each button emits a short audio chirp when touched to acknowledge button activation.
  • Face is easy to cover and clean with no knobs or plugs to cause interference with bags or barrier film.

Vertical Orientation and Small
Physical Size

The EMS400's vertical orientation and narrow profile puts more emphasis on the buttons and less on the display while taking up very little of your valuable work space.

  • The EMS400 boasts the smallest footprint of any Eikon metered power supply to date. Physical Dimensions of 6.5" x 2" x 5.785" (L x W x H)
  • The LCD displays the voltage reading more prominently and puts less emphasis on the other meter readings which are generally only used during machine tuning.
  • Primary display area always displays voltage. Secondary display area can be changed to display Speed, Duty Cycle, FT, Amps, Timer, Diagnostics or Cloak.
  • Easily covered - one piece of barrier film fits perfectly over the face, use a second piece across the top spine to protect against cross contamination when moving the unit during the tattooing process.
  • The custom enclosure is designed to withstand the harsh surface disinfectants which degrade typical plastics over time.

Cables routed out the back

Cables routed out the back

The footswitch and clipcord connections have been moved to the back of the EMS400 with the power cord connector. This was done to help reduce the chance of the cords coming into contact or interfering with your workspace, it also makes covering the unit much easier.

  • Rear facing jacks also reduce the likelihood of cleaning products entering the enclosure when spraying down the EMS400 after tattooing.
  • Industry standard 1/4" Mono Jacks for plugging in your favourite footswitch and clipcord/connector cord.
  • Standard grounded three prong power socket for compatibility with accessory worldwide cordsets.

Gumshoe Sticky Foot

The Gumshoe Sticky Foot attached to the base of the EMS400 ensures the power supply stays upright and securely planted where you put it on your workspace.

  • Made from a silicone material that is super tacky and will stick to hard surfaces like counter tops and work carts.
  • Gumshoe footpad helps protect against the power supply being bumped or tugged off a work station.
  • Stickiness can be "re-energized" by cleaning the silicone with water or alcohol and letting it air dry.

Smoooooth, consistent power for your rotary and coil tattoo machines

Smoooooth, consistent power for your rotary and coil tattoo machines

The EMS400 is specifically engineered to operate electric rotary and coil tattoo machines at their maximum efficiency. This ensures your machines operate on minimal voltage, therefore helping to decrease the likelihood of excessive heating.

  • Run electric rotary or coil tattoo machines without having to switch modes.
  • Smooth consistent output power for improved machine reliability and efficiency.
  • Polarized clipcord jack ensures power flows the proper direction through the polarized electric motors that are installed in many of today's rotary tattoo machines.

Two Timer Modes

How many times have you started a tattoo and forgotten to look at the clock? To help prevent that from happening again, we've built two timer options into the EMS400 to assist artists with tracking tattoo session time.

  • The Runtime timer counts the amount of time the machine is running, starting and stopping with each footswitch command. This mode works well for people who forget to check the clock before starting a tattoo session. Simply reset the timer after each session and the EMS400 will be ready to count for your next session.
  • The Stopwatch timer must be started and stopped manually. The time counted will be a closer reflection of the overall tattoo session, but you will still have to remember to start and stop it.
  • Runtime timer mode comes activated by default. If your preference is to use the stopwatch mode, simply activate it in the menu.
  • Note: The timer is meant to assist the artist (not the client) with determining the amount of time spent tattooing.

Two Footswitch Modes

Two Footswitch Modes

The EMS400 includes both momentary and maintained footswitch modes.

  • Momentary footswitch mode is the default, it provides the typical press and hold footswitch function that most artists are used to.
  • Maintained footswitch mode is activated in the menu options. Press the footswitch once to turn the machine on, and again to turn the machine off.
  • Maintained footswitch mode is great for those times when turning the machine on and off regularly is not necessary, or when you're working on a hard to reach spot and need to be able to move around the client.
  • A small footswitch symbol displays in the top right corner of the screen to identify when Maintained mode is active. No footswitch symbol means momentary mode is active.

Four Voltage Presets

The EMS400 includes four preset channels for saving the voltage settings of your favourite machines. The preset button allows for voltage values to be recalled with a click of the button.

  • Four preset channels for saving the voltage settings of the machines you use most often, or the four machines you're setting up for a particular job.
  • When selecting which preset channel to save into, the display screen shows both the current saved voltage and pending save voltage to ensure you don't save over the wrong channel.
  • The Preset button make modifying voltage settings during a machine swap as simple as pressing the preset button to recall the saved value.

Worldwide Compatibility

Worldwide Compatibility

Using the EMS400 in countries other than North America is as easy as purchasing and plugging in the appropriate cordset for the region.

  • The EMS400 automatically recognizes whether its plugged into 110 or 220 volt service and regulates accordingly.
  • The custom enclosure incorporates the power adapter internally so you won't have to carry a bulky external power module or risk forget it while travelling.
  • Standard socket connection for worldwide cord compatibility.
  • CSA/ UL /FCC approved
